The Enter the Biblical World Playscape on the campus of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (CTSFW) has a large layer of fresh mulch, thanks to God and all the sponsors, donors, and participants in the CTSFW Golf Outing, held at Cherry Hill Golf Club in Fort Wayne May 18, 2022. The Seminary’s maintenance team made short work of spreading the much-needed mulch over the 11,475 square-foot play area, covering many worn spots in need of attention.
"There has not been new mulch spread around that playground for probably 4-5 years,” said Greg Gause, head of maintenance. Gause and his crew spent over 100 hours spreading the 320 yards of mulch, delivered by Bushings Peat Moss and Mulch.
The playscape, designed by Leathers & Associates in 2009 and constructed with volunteer labor, is a big draw for Seminary families and those who come to the campus for local sporting events, including the St. Joe Soccer League. "Completing this kind of maintenance and upkeep creates a safer place for our CTSFW children and families to play and for the greater Fort Wayne community to share with us, as well," said Rev. Dr. Timothy Puls, Director of Alumni and Church Relations.
An additional project yet to be completed is a shed placed near the CTSFW track to store track equipment.
