The Rev. David Witt joined the Advancement office in March of 2022. His primary duty as an Advancement officer is to visit active and prospective donors, as well as congregations of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) for the purpose of raising financial support to fulfill the mission of the Seminary. David is a 2015 graduate of CTSFW. He was blessed to serve two years as a field worker at Zion Friedheim Lutheran Church. Prior to being called to the Seminary, he served as pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church and Faith Lutheran Church in Mobile, Alabama. Before attending Seminary David worked for eight years with the Walker County Sheriff’s Department in Georgia as a deputy and as a detective in the Major Crimes Division. He then worked for 20 years as the general manager of a multiple location hardware and feed store. David graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a B.A. in religion. David and his wife, Dawn, have one adult son, Thomas.
