Biography
Dr. Bushur joined the faculty in the fall of 2006, specializing in patristics. In May 2017 he was named The Carl and Erna Weinrich Associate Professor of New Testament and Early Church Studies. He also serves as director of Deaconess Formation at CTSFW.
He received his B.A. in Biblical Literature from Taylor University, Upland, Indiana (1989), M.Div. (1993) and S.T.M. (Thesis: The Flesh of Christ and the Economy of Salvation in the Teaching of St. Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyons, 1998) from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Durham, UK, in 2010.
He served as pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Decatur, Indiana (1999-2006), and Trinity Lutheran Church, Goodland, Indiana (1994-1999).
Bushur is a member of the North American Patristics Society.
He and his wife, Lori, have three children.
