Pless Honored with Book of Essays
FORT WAYNE, IN (CTS)—One of the highest honors an instructor can receive is the respect and appreciation of his students. The Rev. John T. Pless, assistant professor of Pastoral Ministry and Mission at Concordia Theological Seminary (CTS), Fort Wayne, received just such an honor when many of his former students worked together to present him with Theology is Eminently Practical: Essays in Honor of John T. Pless. The book, published by Lutheran Legacy and edited by Jacob Corzine and Bryan Wolfmueller, was presented to Pless during the 2013 Symposia Series at CTS.
The Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod writes in the Foreword, “There is no one more deserving of such a collection of essays as far as I’m concerned. John’s contribution to Lutheranism is invaluable. It has all been directed toward the clarity and surety of the blessed Gospel of free forgiveness in Christ.”
The 14 essays are written by former students who are now serving the Church in locations all over the world. The book may be purchased for $16.95 from the CTS bookstore by emailing CTSBookstore@ctsfw.edu or phoning 260-452-2160.
