The Holy Land Tour
It is with great pleasure and excitement that Concordia Theological Seminary announces “The Holy Land,” a tour of the places where Abraham, David, the prophets, the disciples and Jesus Himself walked the earth. The seminary hosts for this adventure are Dr. and Mrs. John Nordling.
The tour will take you on a ten-day pilgrimage (November 13 – 22, 2011) into history and the lands of Israel. You will walk in the footsteps of Abraham and David, Jesus and the disciples and witness sites important to His life and to the holy Christian Church. You will also visit the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, the site of the Sermon on the Mount and much more.
Dear Friends,
Our Lord gave the land of Israel to the children of Abraham, and made the Jerusalem temple His dwelling place. There, He spoke by the prophets and ruled by His kings. Then, in the days of Caesar Augustus, The Eternal Son came in the flesh, was born in Bethlehem, grew up in Nazareth, preached in Galilee, and journeyed to Jerusalem where He offered up His life for our salvation. Our Lord Jesus is truly our Emmanuel, God with us.
We invite you now to go on a journey that promises to be the trip of a lifetime. Join us as we travel to the land of prophets and kings. Accompany us on a pilgrimage, as we walk in the footsteps of the King of kings. Our pilgrimage will take us to Jerusalem where we will visit such awe-inspiring sites as the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, Mt. Zion, and the Upper Room. We’ll also visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, the Shepherd’s Field, Nazareth and Masada. Add to that the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, the Mt. of Beatitudes, the site of the Sermon on the Mount, and Tabgba, the site of the Miracle of Loaves and Fishes and much more!
Prayerfully consider making this pilgrimage with us. Nothing is quite like the Land of Israel where the holy Christian Church began. Groups like ours form a unique community of pilgrims, travelling and praying and enjoying the fellowship with one another. In the process we study and grow in our knowledge of the Bible and the One who gave it to us.
